PeopleFirst Consultancy is led by Mary Kadzirange, a highly experienced Mental Capacity Act lead, registered mental health nurse, safeguarding specialist, and strategic leader. Mary's career has spanned clinical practice, operational leadership, governance, safeguarding, workforce development, and legal frameworks, providing a unique perspective that bridges policy, practice, and lived experience.

Unlike many trainers and consultants, Mary combines: frontline clinical experience, senior NHS leadership experience, specialist legal knowledge, governance expertise, multi-agency safeguarding experience, workforce development expertise, and national leadership roles. Mary currently works as a Mental Capacity Act lead within an NHS Integrated Care Board, supporting organisations across complex Mental Capacity Act, safeguarding, and governance matters. This includes providing expert advice on complex Mental Capacity Act cases, supporting Court of Protection processes, leading quality assurance and improvement programmes, developing policies and guidance, supporting safeguarding systems and partnerships, and delivering workforce development and training. This experience ensures that training and consultancy are grounded in current practice, legislation, and system-wide learning.

Mary is also Chair of a National Health Community of Practice, bringing together professionals from across the country to share learning, improve standards and promote best practice.
