Meet Our Founder, Mary Kadzirange

PeopleFirst Consultancy is led by Mary Kadzirange, an experienced Mental Capacity Act Lead, Registered Mental Health Nurse, Best Interests Assessor and safeguarding specialist with extensive leadership experience across health, social care and integrated care systems.

Mary currently provides strategic leadership for the Mental Capacity Act within an NHS Integrated Care Board, supporting organisations with complex Mental Capacity Act matters, safeguarding, governance, Court of Protection processes, Community Deprivation of Liberty and workforce development. Alongside this role, she delivers specialist consultancy, training and independent review services to health and social care organisations across the UK.

 

Our expertise and qualifications

As Chair of a National Health Community of Practice, Mary works with professionals across the country to promote excellence in Mental Capacity Act implementation, safeguarding and human rights, helping shape best practice and organisational learning at a national level.

Her qualifications include a Master of Laws (LLM) in Mental Health Law, Registered Mental Health Nurse registration, Best Interests Assessor qualification, NHS Senior Leadership Award and Safeguarding Adult Review Reviewer training.

Areas of Expertise: We bring a unique combination of clinical, legal and strategic expertise, specialising in: Mental Capacity Act (2005) and Best Interests Decision-Making, Mental Health Act, Complex Capacity Assessments, Safeguarding Adults and Multi-Agency Practice, Human Rights and Restrictive Practice, Court of Protection and Community Deprivation of Liberty, Safeguarding Adult Reviews (SARs), DarDR and other Learning Reviews, Governance, Quality Assurance and Service, Workforce Development, Leadership and Restorative Supervision.
